About

When trauma is triggered, you don’t act your age. You act the age the wound was created.

THIS SITE IS FULL OF CARTOONS BECAUSE

Cartoons Speak Directly To YOUR INNER CHILD

Reconnect With Your Inner Child

When an old wound is activated, the part of you that was hurt often shows up first, and this younger part doesn’t respond to lectures or logic. It responds to play, imagination, and simple visual cues. Cartoons gently bypass the analytical mind and connect directly with your younger self, making it easier to recognize feelings, soften defenses, and begin healing.

Anne Created This Site In Pandemic Isolation

In 2020, Anne found herself starting over in a small, Southern town, far away from her Northeastern roots. Alone with her cat and grieving the unexpected loss of several loved ones, she began exploring ways to expand her emotion vocabulary and learn practical tools for calming her nervous system. What started as a personal search for steadiness soon grew into a project designed to help others regulate, reconnect, and find their strength.

These Are Anne's Original Concepts

Anne came up with the "I'm Fine" Box, G.A.S, her cast of emotion characters, the "Battery of Human Needs", and many other visual concepts to help unify different therapeutic models, and make important psychological models easier to understand.

Special Thanks To Anne's Creative Team

Anne is so grateful for ANMP & JSM Capital, a small group of talented animators in Europe who helped her create 3D versions of her emotion characters. Collectively, this small team has worked on a variety of well known films: Maleficent, Loki, Wonder Woman 1984, The Lion King, and The Witches. With Anne serving as Art Director, ANMP and JSM helped her pose and animate her emotion characters so that she had a variety of image assets to use in her digital illustrations. As the owner of these images, Anne has freely licensed many of the assets to Look for the Good Project so that elementary schools can benefit from this content too.
